Inspired by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni

Designed by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1962, the timeless Arco lamp is possibly the best selling lamp ever. It was featured in numerous films throughout the sixties and seventies, including "Diamonds are Forever" and "The Italian Job", and is now part of the collection at the Museum of Modern Arts.

Originally inspired by the street lamp, designed to provide overhead lighting that doesn’t require ceiling suspension, its light intensity is perfect for reading, working or dining. This will look best in a large room, or at the very least a room with high ceilings!

The lamp itself is composed of a semicircular arch ("arco") made of three stainless steel parts, and an adjustable shade in polished steel, with perforated circles for diffusing the light. The lamp is turned on and off by a foot switch attached to the cable.
